Looking for any members of the Northern Virginia bands; Paperback, The Nark, Polk Bros. Blues Drops, Hybird, The Outriders, John Thomas, Dave Kiser, or related folks. These bands spread from about 1961 to 1972, Thanks!

Wow, wish I knew you or some of those guys. I played in groups from '65 to '68 in that area. The bands I remember are The Shadows, New Del-Fonics, The Fables, Tor-Kays, Apollos, Fallen Angels. Best, Mike

I knew Jimmy when he was in Sierra. Their singer was in my college band at JMU in '69. We reunited our college band several years ago and Jimmy played with us! Mike

Hi all, I started the post and Jim was my brother. He was probably one of the best (yet most under rated) bassists from Northern Virginia. He played with many bands, including a short stint with Jack VanHorn, the Jerry Louis telethon band, and even once with Ella Fitzgerald. He and I were a founding members of the early rock/fusion Arlington band "Hybrid", which played often at the Celler Door in DC, and which later won the Newport Jazz festival's new band catagory.

Jim was a rocker at heart, preferring to play with local bands. Anyone who has heard his take on Elvis Presley will never forget it. I was the drummer in many of the early bands, but I left for California in 1972, and didn't follow his career too closely after that, even loosing contact with him for some time. We found each other in 2004, and I was glad to be a part of his life again, if only for a few short years. He'll be missed both personally, and in Virginia's musical world for some time. Doug Polk
